The conceptual direction behind the collaboration draws on the idea of “making as transformation.”

Youth’s MakerSpace Larnaka represents innovation, experimentation, and hands-on creation, while Cyprus Surreal introduces a lens of dreamlike exaggeration, turning functional objects into fantastical spectacles. Everyday elements of the maker world—tools, gears, machines, blocks—were reimagined at monumental scales, infused with nature, play, and whimsy.

By merging technology with imagination, the project highlights the potential of young creators to reshape their environment, not just through practical invention but through visionary thinking. The surreal aesthetic amplifies the essence of making: bold, unexpected, and endlessly transformative.

The collaboration between Youth’s MakerSpace Larnaka and Cyprus Surreal for MakersFair 2025 brought together the spirit of innovation and the power of imagination. Through surreal large-scale visuals—gears sprouting with life, robotic figures offering flowers, oversized tools, playful slides, and dreamlike Lego structures—the project reinterpreted the idea of making as more than technology or craft: it became a poetic exploration of creativity, community, and future possibilities.

Positioned at the crossroads of youth innovation and artistic storytelling, the work invited visitors to see Larnaka not only as a hub of making, but as a space where imagination and reality blend.
